  Handel's Messiah Palau de la Música Catalana

  With the Messiah, Handel moved away from his other oratorios, which were of a clear Italian influence, to embrace ancient passions and German cantatas. Composed in London in 1741 in just three weeks, the Messiah has traditionally been linked with Christmas, although the oratorio really runs through the life of Jesus. This month of December, the Palau de la Música Catalana will be the wonderful setting of this magnificent work, by the Vespres d'Arnadí and Xavier Puig.

  Jamboree

  It dates back to over half a century and can boast that it offers live music 356 days a year. The Sala Jamboree is the Barcelona temple of jazz par excellence, where great legends and young promises of jazz have played. Figures like Bill Coleman, Kenny Drew, Chet Baker, Ponny Poindexter, Art Farmer, Lou Bennet, Stéphan Grappelli, Kenny Clarke, Cecil Taylor, Elvin Jones, Steve Grossman and Al FosGordon have all been on stage.
  
  All styles are represented, from vanguard to Dixieland passing through bop, fusion, vocal jazz, mainstream, nu-jazz, tango-jazz, flamenco jazz and Latin jazz, without forgetting other Afroamerican styles such as blues and gospel.
  
  This venue is a cultural benchmark of Barcelona, which won the Gold Medal of the city.

  Carlos Núñez

  Carlos Núñez is pretty much a standard at the Mil·lenni Festival. The Galician bagpiper has managed to make his concerts both traditional and full of surprises. He has always invited top-level guests such as Roger Hodgson or Serrat to showcase the different aspects of Celtic, Irish, Breton and Galician music.
  
  This is a unique opportunity to enjoy and be amazed by bagpipe-playing traditions at the most festive concert of the year!

  Family activities and concerts at the Palau

  It is now 15 years since the Palau de la Música Catalana introduced its Cycle of Family Concerts at the Palau, an initiative whose goal is to kindle the passion for and appreciation of music to the youngest members of the household. These are shows conceived and created so that music interacts with other forms of artistic expression such as dance, theater, poetry or the plastic arts, aimed at encouraging the curiosity, imagination and creativity of young and old alike.

  Family activities and concerts at L'Auditori

  As it does every season, L'Auditori is offering a special program for families with children of all ages, so that young and old alike can enter the wonderful world of live music. A wide range of concerts, created for children and designed to make their first musical experience unique and special.

  Family concerts at Petit Liceu

  The Petit Liceu is an initiative of the Gran Teatre del Liceu to bring music to the youngest members of the family. A program that features all-time classics, adapted for the whole family to enjoy.
  Some performances of the shows Miralls, Trencanous-Jazz, La cuina de Rossini and La nit de Sant Joan offer pre-show and participatory workshops for families with tickets for the show.

  Loop Fair Festival

  Created in 2003, Loop is a platform that focuses on the possibilities and challenges presented by video art, one of the key artistic movements of modern times. Each year, Loop hosts professionals and the public for a gathering where they can explore the latest technological and other developments in the moving image sector and see the work of new and established creatives who use video as their main tool.
  
  Loop Festival runs for around 10 days and includes screenings, exhibitions, concerts, talks and other live events at numerous venues around the city.

  David Otero

  David Otero returns to the stage in 2024 with a long-awaited stop at Barcelona's Sala Apolo, where he will present his new album live. After the success of Otero y yo and a tour of more than 100 concerts, the artist has worked hard on a project that focuses on authenticity, with songs that reflect a search for human connection in a digital world. The event at the emblematic Sala Apolo promises an intimate and profound musical journey, with a repertoire that brings together both his hits and his new compositions.

  Cruïlla Festival is ideal for those people looking for top-notch indie and alternative musicians, along with smaller crowds and a more compact programme. Placed in the same venue as Primavera, the Parc del Fòrum.
